Lynda Ann Unowsky, (Cowan, Saylor) 62, Hot Springs Village died on Monday August 27, 2012. Lynda was born on March 30, 1950 to the late Harvey and Catherine (Finch) Cowan in Washington D.C. Lynda was Jewish by faith and attended the Lovers of Learning Synagogue. Lynda spent her working life as an Activities Director for various Nursing Homes, she was the founder of a Disadvantage Children's Home and she was a published author and news writer. Lynda was active in the Writers Club, the Skeptic's Club, and the Civil War Round Table, and enjoyed bowling. Lynda is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband of eleven years Joel Unowsky, two sons; Justin Saylor of Hot Springs, AR; and Ian Saylor and wife Megan and her two grandchildren: Zooey and Finnagan Saylor of Nashville, TN; one brother; Glenn S. Cowan of Hagerstown, MD; two cousins: Carol Webber and Jennifer Stewart, four step children and three step grandchildren to whom she was very close. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Sunday September 02, 2012 at CedarVale Funeral Home Chapel with Rabbi Jerome Fox officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Hot Springs Village Animal Welfare League.
