Mary Kouw

Mary Kouw, age 74 of Zeeland, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020. She is survived by her children and grandchildren: Kevin and Rachael Kouw (Jaylen and Kaylee) and Lisa and Alan Finnie (AJ, Connor and Meghan); her siblings: Ginger and Fred English and Irene and Ard Den Bleyker; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Larry Kouw, Barb and Karl Weber, Donna Kouw, and Dee Besteman. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Howard on August 10, 2020, her parents Marvin Sr. and Geraldine Besteman, her brother Marvin Besteman Jr. her infant brother Roger Besteman; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Harvey and Sarah Kouw, and her brother-in-law Ron Kouw. Mary loved watching her grandchildren play sports and going to Sandy Pines in the summer. She was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church and was employed at Zeeland Hospital for 39 years. Mary enjoyed gardening and reading. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State Street (Covid restrictions are limited to 25 people at the visitation at once) and 9:30-10:45 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, 515 East Main Ave., Zeeland with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Blendon Township Cemetery.
