Rest In Peace Mary and thoughts and prayers to the Alfieris family. I had the pleasure of working with Mary at Fresno City College for two years as did other great Veterans. Her zest for life and compassion for others was truly second to none. Her organizational skills made the job one of the most meaningful and satisfying jobs I have ever had. I see lots of comments about the Veterans she supported, but I know many international students came to America with Ms. Mary as our US ambassador and first person they met with. She even spoke about wanting to travel country to country to promote Fresno City College. We loved to make her laugh and she enjoyed having her Veterans around. She said we kept her young. She even involved us in her personal life with parties at the house and Greek Orthodox Church events to share the culture. Always proud of her children and rightfully so. Peace be with the Alfieris family in this time of loss. It is good to know Mike is waiting for her with a big smile on his face.

Words do not do justice to the positive impact Mary has had on the lives of everyone she knew. I worked with Mary at Fresno City College and during that time, she went above and beyond to assist students. I will always remember that in many ways, Mary was like a 2nd mother to her students. Rest in peace, well done. Mary.

I'm very sorry to hear of Mary's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Mary through my work at ValleyPBS. Just last year I interviewed Mary for a story about the Veterans Resource Center at Fresno City College. She was so excited to see the program she worked so hard for be recognized. Like the fabulous Greek woman she was, she welcomed our crew with snacks and coffee. She even made sure the office was full of beautiful flowers and American flags. I could tell she cared deeply for the students and veterans she worked with. Mary was very special and will definitely be missed by all that knew her.

Mary was part of the fabric at Fresno City College and i will miss seeing her smiling face on campus. I would see her working late so many nights and she really gave her life and wisdom to the students.
Her spirit will be there when I step into the gift shop at St. George's gift shop in August at the Greek Fest. I visited her there every year as she worked tirelessly for her church.
