West Newton - Mary T. (Barrows) Geoffrion died on Monday, October 17, 2022, in Newton-Wellesley Hospital after a brief illness. She was 96. Mary T. Barrows was born on June 27, 1926, in Cambridge, MA, a daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Lawless) Barrows. Raised and educated in Waltham, she was a graduate of Waltham High School, class of 1944. She married Paul Geoffrion on April 19, 1947, in Waltham and they made their home in West Newton. Paul passed away on December 26, 1996, just 4 months shy of what would have been their 50th wedding anniversary. After raising her children, Mary worked in retail and then as a quality control manager in the medical industry for many years before retiring. Mary enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting and square dancing. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, never missing a game. Mary also loved traveling to places like California, Ireland and Bermuda. The trips she most looked forward to were her annual trips to Florida to visit relatives. For years, Mary enjoyed opening her home for the annual family Christmas party which was celebrated the Saturday after Christmas for her extended family. Her happiest moments were when her house was filled with family and friends. In addition to her husband, Paul she was predeceased by her brothers, George and William Barrows (late Margaret). She leaves her children, Karen A. Albano (Dana) of Pembroke, Paul D. Geoffrion (Cynthia) of Acton and Gary T. Geoffrion (Linda) of Northborough; her grandchildren, Laura Albano (Jeff Arcieri), Jen Albano (Elizabeth Spaulding), Brendon Geoffrion, Nicole Geoffrion, Matthew and Thomas Geoffrion; her great-grandchild, Mia; siblings, Thomas Barrows (Marilyn) of Florida and Margaret Nix (late John) of Waltham; her sister-in-law, Mary Barrows in Florida; nieces & nephews.
