Naomi Delamielleure Obituary

Published by D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home on May 9, 2019.
Clela Naomi Delamielleure, "Chunkie", age 89, died Thursday, May 9, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Naomi was born August 12, 1929 in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Robert Presnell and the late Julia (nee: Sorrells) Presnell. Naomi spent her early youth in Pennsylvania before the family moved to Michigan where her father found new employment. Naomi would graduate from Warren's, Fitzgerald High School and later worked for a local doctor's office. As a young woman, Naomi met and married the love of her life, a young man by the name of Stanley Delamielleure. The couple sealed their wedding vows at St. Anne Catholic Church in Warren, the year was 1949. Soon after marrying, Naomi, or "Chunkie" as she was affectionately known, settled into a new home in Warren and she found herself helping her husband at the family beer garden, the Victory Inn, along with starting a family. Always a hard working woman, Naomi was employed with the Warren Consolidated School District, helped at the family bar, and always made sure her children were well taken care of and ready for school or their sporting events. Naomi lived her entire adult life in Warren and spent most of it in the home she and her husband built on Hoover Road. She continued working at the school first cooking and baking and later became the first female custodian for the district. Naomi worked for over 20 years for the schools retiring proudly from Warren Cousino High School. In addition to her hard work, Naomi was devout in her faith and was a founding member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Warren. She loved baseball and the Detroit Tigers and always made sure her boys were ready to play little league. She was active and social, and when younger enjoyed bowling, playing Bunko and cards with her clubs. Over the years Naomi and her husband traveled to almost every state in the union, most times with their daughter Jackie in tow. As time passed and Naomi slowed a bit, she cherished her time spent with family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be forever remembered as a wonderful, hardworking woman whom loved her family. Mrs. Delamielleure was the beloved wife of the late Stanley "Buka" Delamielleure and dear mother of Gary (Debbie) Delamielleure, Terry (Tracy) Delamielleure, and Jackie (Michael) Politowicz. She was the cherished grandmother of Robin Smelcer, Aniela (Joe) Bosca, Terry (Niki) Delamielleure, Michael (Suzi) Politowicz, Megan (Josh) Rowe, Tracy (Pat) Militello, Tammy (Ron) Fontaine, Casey Stallsmith, Cari (Adam) Scott, RJ (Rachel) Russell, Cory Delamielleure, Chelsea Delamielleure, and Savannah Krusiewicz. Further survivors include her great-grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, Elijah, Alyssa, Ava, Ella, Aubree, Caleb, Alyssa, Yasmine, Eden, Maddie, Judah, Maddox, Jaydon, Tanner, Anna, Aimsley, Michael, Vivianya, Autumn, Abigail, Adi, Joshua, Troy, and her sisters of Madeline Devers and Evelyn Hector. I knew Naomi and Buka through Gary and through the wonderful reputation of the Victory Inn. What a rich, fulfilling life ! And 20 great-grandchildren, wow ! This world is a whole lot better because Gary's Mom was in it.
