Naomi Werbow Obituary

Published by Weed Corley Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services - North on Jun. 10, 2015.
Naomi Esther (née Ecker) Werbow, born in New York City on Dec. 6, 1925, died in Austin, her home for 63 years, on June 10, 2015. Our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, gave us all the gift of the love and appreciation of music, art, nature, family, language, and culture. Strong of character and will, she always gave her best, saving the best portions for her loved ones, and taking very little for herself. She was a charter member of the Austin chapter of the American Recorder Society, was an avid and gifted photographer, fisherwoman, and cook, taxied children and grandchildren alike to music and art lessons, rehearsals, urging us always to show up on time and do our best – to "shoot for the stars". She leaves behind her daughters, Susan, Emily, and Carol; grandsons, Jefferson, Michael, and Noah; great-grandchildren, Vincent, Sally, and Emma; sons-in-law, Mike, John, and Gerd; granddaughters-in-law, Stefanie and Stacy, as well as a close-knit extended family. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Stanley N. Werbow. We will remember her always with love and gratitude, and celebrate her life and the life she gave.
