Nina Mae Monarchy went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2013 at Heartland in Beckley, WV. She was born in Mabscott, WV on February 8, 1927. She resided at the Bayberry Inn for the last ten years. Preceding her in death was her parents, Marion and Glenna Hamm; her husband, Frank; three brothers, Thomas, Harry, and Cecil Hamm ;sister, Barbara Turner; two sons, Charles and Samuel, and one grandson, Michael Monarchy. Surviving is one sister, Mary Hogan of Oak Hill and one step-sister, Dottie Diamond of Heath, OH; surviving children are Robert Monarchy and wife VJ of Beckley, James Monarchy and wife Beulah of Beckley; daughters, Mary Taylor of Midway, Catherine Reynolds of Forest, VA and Nancy Tyree and husband Charles of Beckley; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 31, 2013 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Rev. Jerry Tyree officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tony Wheby, Josh Helms, Mason Tyree, Jeff Darlington, Roger Reynolds; honorary pallbearers will be Bill Hartley and Bobby Peck. Friends may gather with the family Thursday from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at the Bayberry Inn for the gentle care, compassion and love shown to her. They also express thanks to everyone at Heartland for going beyond their duties to keep her comfortable and pain free. They showed the same compassion and care for the family. Dr. Berry was exceptional in his care and especially his bedside manner. Thanks also to Bethel Freewill Church of Mac Arthur for the many prayers.
