Richard W. McGurin

Surrounded by family, Richard W. McGurin of Stoneham, MA passed away on October 20, 2022. Beloved husband of 70 years to Pauline (Cardarelli). Devoted father of Deborah Davidian and her late husband John of Melrose, Linda McGurin of Greenland, NH, Diane Luppi and her husband Ken of Tewksbury, and Lynette Huth and her husband Fred of Cream Ridge, NJ. Loving Grandfather of John R., Joanna, Nikki, Danielle, Michaela, Megan, Matt, Allie, Victoria, Ryan, Connor and Drew. Proud great-grandfather of Kai, Sophie, Harper, Melody, Nairobi, Kendall and Theo. Also survived by his brother-in-law John Cardarelli and wife Corinne of Malden, sister-in-law Teresa Cardarelli of Medford, sister- in-law Nina Cardarelli of Revere, and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. A resident of Stoneham, Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, and returned as a dedicated civilian employee until his retirement after 33 years of service. Dick cherished the time he spent gathering his family together and having fun with them on Pine River Pond. He was truly happiest being on the water; especially when "Papa's Beach" was overflowing with extended family and dear friends. Family and friends are invited to gather for visiting hours at McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main Street, Stoneham on Monday October 24 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham on October 25 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, 150 Forest St., Malden.
