Hancock Roger Alan Klemett, 45, a former resident of Hancock and presently of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away after a short illness on Saturday January 22, 2011 with his family by his side in St. Petersburg. Roger was born on June 21, 1965, in Hancock, MI, a son of Mervin and Marlene (Laurn) Klemett. He was a graduate of the Hancock High School with the class of 1983 and attended Northern Michigan University. Roger was known for his sense of humor and his warm heart. He made friends easily and always had a big sparkling smile for all to see. He enjoyed all sports, but baseball, hockey, and golf were his favorites. He moved to New Hampshire in 1985, where he worked for Hutter Construction and Sullivan Brother's Painting before owning and operating his own concrete business, Roger's Concrete. He served with the National Guard for a few years in Michigan, and then for the 210 engineer detachment National Guard in Peterborough, NH. Recently Roger has been residing in Florida. Preceding him in death were his brother James Klemett, his maternal grandparents James and Esther Laurn, his paternal grandparents, Veino and Martin Klemett and his niece Callie Brooks. Surviving are: His parents, Mervin and Marlene Klemett of Hancock His son, Alan (Ashley) Klemett of S. Beloit, IL His daughters: Lauren Klemett of Bennington, NH Annika Klemett of Bennington, NH His brother, Paul (Marylynn) Klemett of Kalamazoo, MI His sisters: Kathy Kallio of Houghton Chris (Paul) Paananen of Chassell Several special nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins Funeral services for Roger will be held 1 pm Saturday January 29, 2011, at the Zion Lutheran Church of Hancock with Rev. Gerry Southerton to officiate. Spring burial will be in the Mt. View Cemetery of South Range. Friends may call on Saturday January 29, 2011, from 11 am until time of services at the Zion Lutheran Church of Hancock.
