Ron & I had a lot of fun at his land at Mt. Evan’s, west of Denver. It was a great place to getaway from everything and enjoy some great scenery. We’d hike the trails of his property and look out over the beautiful landscapes. Those are some happy memories of enjoying the beautiful Colorado mountains in the 80’s.
May Ron RIP!

I have some great memories of Ron! The joy of hiking with Ron up at Mount Evans, his property that he loved in Colorado. Driving the Denver market as Ron taught me a lot about real estate and finding a great location. I did a few store openings with Ron in Denver, and had a lot of fun making pizzas and making dough. Ron was always very generous and fun to hang with. Ron was also a good hockey player, as well. A great teammate that would stand up for you in the corner. Not afraid to drop the gloves and set the tone of not taking any guff from anyone. He worked hard, and scored some nice goals, crashing the net! He loved the game! And he was great in the locker room, always encouraging and a real competitor. I have many fond memories of Ron and always enjoyed being around him! May Ron “Rest in Peace”

Ron was a great friend to me! Whether it was playing hockey on the same team or working together in the pizza business. Ron was a true friend. When I moved to Denver in 1986, I didn't know too many people but Mike & Ron embraced me. Showing me the ropes in the pizza business and having a lot of fun after work. Ron would go out of his way to include me. Whether it was going out to dinner, taking his children to Water World, the park, or up to his mountain property on Mt. Evan's. It was always a blast. Ron would walk the property on Mt. Evan's and explain the layout he had in his mind for building his dream home. He had a spectacular view at 14,000 ft. elevation and looking out over the city and mountain views. We got lost one time at his property as the sun was dropping fast and we got turned around. We were both getting nervous with no cell phones at the time. Finally we stumbled upon some stakes that were on an adjacent property and we found the road that brought us back to our car. We were so relieved that we drove down the mountain and had a beautiful dinner together, celebrating the bullet we just dodged. I miss Ron's great sense of humor and sense of adventure. We had a lot of fun together!

My condolences to your family on the loss of your son and brother. It takes me back to the Little Caesar's squirt and pee wee hockey teams and games at Winter Wonderland. Those days oftentimes seem like they occurred in a different life. It was a very nice and enjoyable time in many lives. So sorry we lost touch over the years.

I have many great memories of Ron. Playing hockey with Ron was a blast. He was a great teammate, always there to back you up and stand up when you were outnumbered in the corner. He was not afraid to fight even against a bigger player, it didn't matter. He was a good player, too. Scrapper, worked the corners, battled in front of the net, always willing to do the dirty work to score a goal. When I moved to Colorado in 1986, Mike Jr. & Ron were living in Denver and took me under their wing. Spent a lot of time with Ron at his property at Mt. Evans. He loved that property. We would go up there and he would walk off where his house was going to be and where each detail of the house would be. I remember taking Ryan & Michael, Ron's two boys who he adored, to Water World in Denver. We spent the whole day going on the water rides. We had a blast, and Ron really enjoyed having fun with his two boys. Afterward we went out for a great dinner and he looked at me and said "that was a great day"! It was a great day!
Ron came down to our opening in Pueblo for store#1 and I was nervous as anyone, opening the first store. But Ron came into the store and gave me a great pep talk on how much fun it was going to be and how it was going to be a great location. He brought me a lot of comfort in making the 2 hour drive and give me a shot in the arm, as well.
Ron was a very kind person and a great friend to me. He would do whatever he could to help people if he saw someone that needed help, a very generous man. His great sense of humor, that was always a positive thing when I was with Ron. He could get me laughing and change the outlook for the day. Ron loved his brother Mike Jr. very much. They would always stand up for each other, whether in a hockey game or on the street, if you messed with Ron you were going to have Mike Jr. right there, as well. If you messed with Mike Jr., you were going to have Ron coming after you. They were great brothers that always backed each other up. I remember going to the house on Sebago Lane back in the 70's and play pool for hours. Mike & Ron would get on their instruments and play music, swim in the pool and just have so much fun! Those were great times shared with Ron & Mike Jr. The generosity of the Ilitch family ran deep, and I was blessed to be a recipient of that generosity many times over the years. Ron had that generosity in his blood that was part of the Ilitch DNA. Help whoever he could whenever he could, as often as he could. That is what I remember and will never forget about my dear friend, Ron. May he "Rest in Peace".
Sincerely,
Dave Feamster
