Rudolfo "Rudy" Montaño

Rudolfo R. "Rudy" Montaño, 74, of Elyria passed away Monday, April 20 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center following a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 21, 1940 in Grants, New Mexico. Rudy graduated from Grants High School, New Mexico, Class of 1960. He was employed from 1989-2002 as a Laborer and previously a Coal Miner in West Virginia. He was a former member of the Elyria Moose Club and Eagles Club, NRA, and North American Hunter's Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and wood carving. Mr. Montaño is survived by his wife of 40 years Brenda; sons John Lee Johns, Jr. of Elyria and James Wayne Johns (wife Dawn) of Greensboro, NC; daughter Kimberly Montaño of San Bernadino, CA; brothers Desi Montaño (Jean) of Grants, NM and Johnny Montaño (Toni) of Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by sons Jimmy and Donny Montaño; brother Milton Montaño; parents Catarino and Rosalia Montaño (nee Ortega). Memorial service will be 1pm Sunday, April 26 at Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second Street, Elyria. www.buschcares.com
