William “Bill� Grailer, 74, of Kingsford, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain. Bill was born September 24, 1936 in Kingsford, son of the late Louis and Verna (Walton) Grailer. He graduated from Kingsford High School and served for two years in the U.S. Army. Bill married Shirley Miller on October 29, 1954 in Kingsford. He was employed at the Dickinson County Sheriff Department for a few years before going to work for Fayas and Sons as a truck driver, where he spent the majority of his career. Bill later worked as head of security for PSI for about three years. He was an avid Detroit Lions and Tigers fan. Bill loved spending time outdoors, especially at camp, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and taking four wheeler rides with his dog, Abby. Bill is survived by his wife, Shirley; a son, Michael (Debbie) Grailer of Iron Mountain; a daughter, Lisa Grailer (Glen Siegler) of Kingsford; a sister, Teresa (Peter) Rossato of Kingsford; two grandchildren, Michelle Grailer (Troy LaFave) and Travis Grailer; two great grandchildren, Alec and Austin Grailer; a brother-in-law, Arnie (Mary) Miller; sisters-in-law, Ursula Grailer, Susan Grailer, Arvella Rudd and Rosemary (Don) Phillips; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dog, Abby. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert “Pooch�, Jerry “Dimps� and Edward Grailer. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow at 6:00pm at the funeral home. Rev. Lee Liverance will officiate.
