She was born in Manchester on October 26, 1921, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Eliasz) Lewandowski. She was educated in the local schools and was a graduate of Manchester High School Central.
Prior to retirement, she had been employed by Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for many years. Previously, she had worked for Davison Electronics.
Mildred enjoyed reading, crocheting, and volunteering at the Elliot Hospital.
She was a longtime communicant of St. Hedwig Church.
She was predeceased by her first husband Walter Schamp during WWII and her second husband Edward Grzywacz in 1984. She was also predeceased by her infant daughter Constance Schamp.
Family members include two sons, Richard Grzywacz and his wife Johnna of Weare, Edward Grzywacz and his wife Nancy of Bedford; her daughter, Janice Lenehan and her husband Gary of Deerfield; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; several nephews and nieces.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, March 23, 2012 in St. Hedwig Church, with the Msgr. Alfred Daniszewski officiating.
Burial followed in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Greater Manchester Meals on Wheels Program, 323 Franklin St, Manchester, NH 03101.
