Sandra Pahl Obituary

Sandra Pahl (Flading) 67 years old, died on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at her home in Chandler, Arizona surrounded by her family. Having survived previous battles against breast cancer, Sandy's fight resumed once again in 2014 after a return home from a bucket list accomplishment of a European river cruise with her two children. Her strong will to live, coupled with the love and prayers of her family and friends carried Sandy through a grueling series of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Throughout her inspiring year-and-a-half-long struggle, Sandy never lost her zest for life, her exceptionally quick wit or her endearing self-deprecatory style of humor. Sandy was born and raised in Buffalo, NY as the third of three daughters of Arthur and Lillian Jerge. She is a graduate of Bennett High School in Buffalo and EJ Meyer School of Nursing, where she earned her RN Certificate. She went on to enjoy a long and fulfilling career in healthcare, caring for others in need, first in Buffalo and later across Arizona before retiring in her mid-50's. Throughout her life, Sandy always maintained a welcoming, friendly demeanor that won the trust and hearts of everyone she met. Those that knew her best also will not be surprised to learn that Sandy proudly maintained, until the very end of her life, her "straight-shooter-like" approach and was often fond of saying, "if you have to keep thinking about something then you already know the answer." Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Pahl and sister, Patricia Wise. Her indomitable spirit lives on in her three beloved children, Brent and Kelly Flading, Sheri Pahl; her devoted sister, Suzanne Gram and family, extended family throughout the Country, and her beautiful grandchildren, Jacob and Palmer. In following Sandy's final wishes, her family has decided that there will be no memorial service. They encourage anyone that knew Sandy to donate to the charity of their choice in her honor.

You were the best mom and friend a kid could ask for. There will never be enough words to thank you for all you gave and taught us. I think of you a hundred times a day and miss you every second of every day. Love-Kelly

Sandy, I'll never forget the dinner we had when we started laughing (at something silly, I'm sure) and we couldn't stop. I mean we laughed and laughed, so long and so hard we were both in tears and, if I remember correctly, I think they may have even asked us to leave. Imagine that, being kicked out of resturant for laughing too much!

But, that's the kind of person you were, always able to find happiness and fun in life. You really knew how to live life and I only hope I can learn to enjoy ir half as much as you did!

Good bye my dear friend....Pat
