Margit Johnson-Lacker Obituary

Margit Wirth Johnson-Lacker passed on May 28, 2015 after a blessed life filled with lots of love, and lots of challenges met. Margit was born in Gemunden, Germany, taking the boat to America at three years old with her parents and grandparents, settling in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Roosevelt University, earning a BS Laboratory Sciences degree, specializing in Phlebotomy. Margit and David Lieberman raised three sons, Marc, Rick and Craig, in Elgin, IL where Margit was on the council of American women. Margit later took a job with the Free Press Newspapers, becoming their top sales agent until retiring to Tucson with her second husband, Norman O. Johnson Jr. of Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Blending together families including Norman's children, Nancy, Norma, Carol and Donald. Later Margit volunteered for ten years as a Docent for Tucson Museum of Art while also caring for her mother, Aunt and ailing husband. After Norman's passing in 2001, Margit was overjoyed to find and marry Jerry Lacker, and blending again with Jerry's extended family of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We, the living, celebrate the life of Margit including Marc and Cindy Lieberman of Scottsdale, AZ; Rick and Amy Lieberman of Scottsdale and their children, Claire, Elise and Aaron; Craig Lieberman of Grapevine, Texas and his children, Stephanie, Elizabeth, Hannah and Benjamin; Nancy Brown of Peachtree City, GA; Norma and Buck Hilliard of Peachtree City, GA and their children, Norman and Zachary; Carol and Jim Bryan of Hurst, TX and their children, Steve and Kelly; Don and Katherine Johnson of Frederick, MD and their children, Benjamin, Emily and Nicholas; Jan and Ivor Lichterman of Toledo, OH and their children, Mayron, and Ari and Jackie. These celebrants and the extended family and friends gather together to celebrate this most excellent individual. Margit was a lifetime learner continuing to take courses throughout her life. In lieu of gifts Margit wanted everyone to send donations to educational institution of their choice. A Memorial Service will be held at Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 8:00 p.m., Temple Emanuel-El, 225 N. Country Club Road, Tucson, AZ. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY. www.evergreen-tucson.com

Our deepest sympathies to Margit's family. She was our neighbor on Via Zurburan. She was also a fellow Hyde Parker and Roosevelt alumnus.
