We send our love and prayers to the Demers. Mr. & Mrs. Demer took care of us and loved us like family too. Their love, cheerfulness, generosity, humor, compassion, and high standards were beyond compare, and their own children have continued this exceptional legacy. Blessings on all the Demers and thank you all for making the world a much better place!

I am so sorry for the loss of Lou Demer. Had many good times with him and Mary and she would send me a card on my birthday each year and when she passed he picked up the pace and would mail a card to me. My prayers are with you. May he and Mary enjoy eternal life.

When I think about him, I can't help but recall the note from Lou I kept taped near my computer for years. In it he thanked me for mentioning his accident in our newsletter and wishing him a speedy recovery on behalf of all of us in the Tucson Community Tennis Program. I remember thinking: Wow, here's a man who gets hit by a car and finds a reason to write a thank you note. That is a very positive person!
Lou was an inspiration to all of us. The TCTP children adored him. I hate to think he was the last of his kind. But if there are more out there like him, they are few and far between.
My husband, Bruce, and I extend our sincere condolences to your entire family. Our lives were brightened by having known Lou.

The members of The Society of St. Vincent de Paul send heart-felt condolences to his family. Lou was our Spiritual Advisor for many years (many hand-outs !!) and in his last years took care of our daily paperwork. He will be greatly missed. We loved him and loved his always smiling face.

I only met Dr. Demer a few times, but worked with his son Frank for many years at the UA. Dr. Demer always struck me as someone who was brilliant, yet incredibly humble and gracious. Those traits are shared by his son Frank. What a tremendous legacy he and Mary leave behind! Wishing all of the Demer family peace during this time of loss, yet knowing that his life here on Earth should be celebrated!

Dr. Demer was such a wonderful teacher! He taught in a very visual way to help us to understand the material. I admired him greatly for his sincere faith and the joy with which he approached teaching!

I had the privilege of Dr. Demer's instruction as an undergraduate in metallurgical engineering in the early 1970s. His classes and laboratories were impeccably organized, challenging, and rewarding to me. And he was unfailingly patient and kind, with an undercurrent of joy. I was blessed with many professors who obviously enjoyed their work but none more than he. May Heaven's road rise up to meet you, Dr. Demer.

Lou was one of my professors in metallurgy during my undergrad and postgrad time there over 67 to 73. He taught me the field of nondestructive testing, which became my life's work after a brief USAF career. He also employed me as a graduate student on a research grant. I have nothing but fond memories of Lou. The last time I saw him was at the UofA Engrg Scholarship reception 5 yrs ago. He was there with one of his sons on behalf of his own memorial scholarship, and I had just established one in the name of Tom Morris, the dept head in metallurgy during my time there. Lou will always be remembered as a kind and considerate gentleman, and an excellent instructor. My sincere condolences to his family and friends on his passing. His memory and life example will carry on through the legacy of his family .

I am very sorry to learn of Dr Demer's passing. He was one of my professors at the University if Arizona and have many fond memories attending his classes and working with him as he guided all of us to our metallurgical careers. I always greatly appreciated his talents and managed to see him a few times over the many years since I graduated. Always a gentlemen and a fine person and engineer.
My sincerest condolences to the family.
