Justin LOWE Obituary

Age 32, of Vadnais Heights, MN Died suddenly July 21, 2015. Survived by his parents, Mary and Colin; sister Shannon and husband Jon Proulx; nephew Colin; special godmother; special friend Carly; aunts, uncles and cousins; many friends and fans. Justin was born December 17, 1982, in Flemington, NJ. He was a 2001 graduate of White Bear Lake High School. Justin was a gifted musician, music producer and photographer. His passion for music started early. At age one he was playing with his dad's stereo equipment. At two years of age he was drumming on pots and pans in the kitchen. From grade 6 through 12, he played percussion in the school band. Justin picked up a guitar at age nine and never put it down. He later realized his childhood dream of playing in a band, performing across the world to appreciative fans. That band was After The Burial, which he co-founded. He toured across the United States, Europe, Australia and the Soviet Union. His primary instruments were seven- and eight-string guitars. He was endorsed by Ibanez. Although music was Justin's first love, photography held a special place in his heart. His pictures of landscapes, cityscapes, and rural scenes that he snapped while on tour and around the Twin Cities, always drew positive comments. His unique spirit will be remembered in a private family graveside service. In lieu of memorials, please donate to your favorite charity in Justin's memory.

I first met you in 2007 when you played in Tennessee and you were nice enough to take time and talk to me about music. I really took a lot from that conversation and fell in love with After the Burial. You have impacted my life and music more than I can describe. I am forever grateful for that.

Mary, Colin, Shannon and family,
Please accept our deepest sympathy in the loss of your son Justin. We share in that loss in a way only parents can when they lose someone so dear. It has been over 10 years since we lost our son, Jason. Jason and Justin were buds back then and shared many great times together. Please know we will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers as you go forward. At this time, it may seem like the world is closing in on you, but please know that when you share the love you had for Justin, the memories, and all the wonderful things he accomplished, you will start to see the light of life again.

Mary Colin Shannon and family, I am so sorry for the loss of Justin. He was one of our own and always knew that. The only joy I can feel is that Ricky and Justin are once again causing a commotion together. Our hearts ache and he will never ever be forgotten. His talent not only with music but is photography - MAN, so talented! I would tell him "hey if that music crap doesnt work out, you can always be a famous photographer!" He truly is one of a kind and will be missed forever. Please remember, just as you were there for us, we are here for you. Love you all. The McCauleys, Rick Lynda and Haley.

To my brother Justin or also J Lowe....you are going to be deeply missed. I will always remember your voice and face as you were a wonderful person..so caring, gentle, nice, and had a beautiful soul. You will never be forgotten by myself or by many others who love you so much. I will remember all the great times we all spent together..you, Ricky, me and our family. The great times we had at the cabin and all the times in general. Playing pool, darts, and watching you play your guitar. Especially that beautiful one you made and dedicated to Ricky. Well it is now for the both of you as I can see the two of you together now continuing your friendship on the other side. Justin I love you very much from the bottom of my heart. With much love sent to you. My condolences, thoughts, and prayers are sent out to you and your family. With much love, Krystal, Eric, and Avah

I had the privilege of seeing my favorite band After The Burial twice once in 2010, and again in 2013. The second time was extra special because I was able to meet my Idol, and main influence as an extended range guitarist. And that person was Justin Lowe. He was incredibly kind, and genuinely excited to talk to me and to sing my In Dreams shirt which still proudly hangs on my wall. He left behind an amazing legacy of beautiful music that helped me get over a lot of negative things happening in my life. Thank you Justin for all the amazing music over the years and just being an amazing person and an influence to many. We're all going to miss you bro. <3

Some of us are lucky enough to have a friend from way back that you are still in touch with and see from time to time because you live in different cities. Justin was one of those friends for me and we had been friends for nearly 17 years. Every time I saw him I remembered why we were still friends. Such a rad dude with a great heart and passion for the things he loved. I don't know if we'll ever meet again, but I'll hold close your memory until the end of my days. I offer my sincere condolences to Justin's family, friends, band mates and fans. The world will continue to be a better place for us because we knew someone like him.
