Mary Ann was like an Aunt to me. She was my mother's friend, and I've known her from childhood. I am sad I will never see her again. She had a strong independent spirit that was an inspiration to me. She was also had a good sense of humor, and was an avid outdoors person. I will miss her loyal friendship.

Mary Ann Mattoon was a longtime member of the Twin Cities chapter of the National Writers Union. We will miss her lively presence at our meetings.

Mary Anne was a pioneer in establishing a priviate professional practice in Jungian psychotherapy. Her road to very impressive accomplishments was often longely and against the prevailing winds. Small of body, strong in courage and intellect. In college she was known as "Mighty Matt." True, indeed!

Mary Ann was a very active volunteer at the Walk-In Counseling Center for a number of years. At the same time she was a dynamic force in the creation of the Jungian Society. More recently she had moved into Walker Residence where my mother lives so I was able to visit with her in the dining room. Very sad to lose Mary Ann. A psychologist of high standards and integrity who brought many unique gifts.
