I would like to say that I am sadden to hear of Mr. Straube's passing in 2006. I only met him once back in 1994 when he painted a beautiful water color of Cathedral Rock of Sedona Arizona. I worked for Deluxe for 16 years and had taken a bank from Phoenix to Shoreview and Bob had painted this picture. The picture was painted for the bank but the bank could not accept it so my manager suggested I keep it. What a treasure to have this watercolor in my office all these years. I just moved and the glass had broken so I wanted to look up Mr. Straube. He was the best!

Hard to believe it’s been 14 years since Bob went ”Home” to that big art studio in the sky. Dani and I think of Bob often, mostly when we observe a stunning landscape or see a beautiful watercolor. He left art memories in many homes and businesses throughout Minnesota and the rest of the country. RIP Bob Straube!

Dear Betty & Family:
Bob was the most talented of all our group of friends at So. Ill. U.
At times, he was the bulwark of sanity, kept us out of serious trouble, and guided us back on the right track.
He and his talent will be missed by all.

So sorry to hear about Bob's passing on. I always enjoyed working with him at my gallery in White Bear Lake, and people loved his still life paintings. He left many memories with many, many people, and will be missed by the art community. God bless you and your family.

I was shocked to see Bob's obituary in the newspaper. In the 1980's, I was a sales rep in the retouching business and Bob was one of my favorite clients. He and his coworkers at Deluxe were always pleasant and kind. My heart goes out to the family. Bob was a wonderful man with a quick smile, and left us too soon.

Dear Straube family:

My deepest sympathies on the loss of your beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Robert. Nancy was in my courtroom serving as a juror in the middle of a very serious trial when the news came that Bob had a stroke. She rushed from courtroom to be at his side. As someone whose own father has been seriously ill a great deal this past year, I know how difficult this must be for your entire family. I never got a chance to thank Nancy for her service on behalf of Ramsey County. Please accept my sincerest condolences.

Dear Family,

Bob was a great artist and even better person. We knew him during the last few years at Deluxe and had the good fortune of having Bob paint watercolors of several of our homes that move with us wherever we go. His watercolor of the St. Paul Conservatory hangs prominently in our family room. We will miss Bob and send our heartfelt sympathy to the family. Thank you for sharing him with us.

Love,
Rick & Dani

Dear Betty and Family,
What a priviledge to have met your husband and father. When my husband had his heart transplant, I could talk to Bob and know he understood.
I enjoyed taking watercolor classes from Bob and seeing the way he was so comfortable with the brush in his hand...as though nothing was impossible. What a talent. I am honored to have some of his art work. A part of him will live on forever in each piece.
We are so very sorry for your loss.
God Bless you all.

I knew Bob from Deluxe. I remember wearing the red heart pin while he waited for his transplant. Just before he left Deluxe, Bob created for me, a small watercolor picture (on some scrap material he had) of a yellow rose; it still sits in my curio cabinet. Thanks for always sharing your talent Bob!

Bob's art which hangs in my house now will be all the more loved. He was a good and fun friend. At a time when my husband was out of work he called his friend, Jack of Lehman Farms and left a message "to hire Will". It was so much appreciated at the time. A better friend would be hard to find. His e-mails will be missed.

To the Straube family, I am sorry for your loss. About five years ago I commissioned Bob to do an oil painting of the Mont St. Michel Abbey in northern France. It was so much fun working with him and I very much enjoyed the paintings and the travel stories he shared with me. We will always treasure our painting.
