Dr. Thayer reached out to my family when my son was just 4 months old. I knocked on his door without an appointment after just learning that my son would need surgery from his pediatrician, located in the same building. I was frantic with worry when this angel of a man offered to examine my baby immediately. He calmed my fears and scheduled the surgery for the next week. On the day of the surgery he was exceptional in the care of my son (and his scared to death Mother too) and I will be forever grateful. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.

For Dr. Thayer's Family,
I didn't have the good fortune of knowing Dr. Thayer, however, my dear friend Dolly has helped him since she returned from FL. I'm so sorry for your loss. She has told me of what a wonderful man he was and how much she loved and respected him. Men like he, will surely shine in Heaven, and I'll say a prayer for peace in your family's hearts.

Dr. Thayer was the physician who gave me my Class III medical certificate in the mid-nineties so I could train on private aircraft. I remember him to be very encouraging and nice, and I'm sure he was hundreds if not thousands of greenhorns like me before. He treated me as if my quest was the most important thing he ever got involved in. I just want to offer my condolences to the extended Thayer family, there's no doubt Dr. Thayer will be missed.

Chap was a fierce warrior and competitor right up through his final moments. His gift of quiet reserve coupled with sardonic wit never ceased to bring a smile to anyone with the pleasure of his company. We will all miss him tremendously -- he was, and remains, an inspiration for us all.

"Chappy's" name always will be synonomous with surgery. He was, in his time, the most trusted surgeon! He was known as a very caring man and friend to all who had the opportunity and were lucky enough to be assosciated with him regardless of the venue! His name will always be held dearly to all in the seacoast area. Gone but not forgotten; may he rest in peace.

Kind and gracious, always a smile and attention. One of a kind, end of an era. My thoughts are with his family and friends. My deepest condolences.
