Robert Richard Counter

1931 - 2021

Bow - Robert (Bob) Richard Counter, 89, passed away December 25, 2020. Bob was born to Frederick and Alice Counter on August 12, 1931, and grew up in Manchester, NH. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and was honorably discharged.

He married the love of his life, Constance (Connie) Nicholas, June 5, 1954, until her death in 2016. His career start was with Manchester Dairy. In 1963, he moved his young family to Bow, N.H. Bob was a licensed Electrician, Commercial Air Conditioner, Plumbing/Heating repairman for several companies, retiring from the Manchester Union Leader newspaper.

He was a charter member of the Bow Pioneers Snowmobile Club, a volunteer Fireman for Bow, and a Scout Leader for the Fire Explorers. Bob was active in the Bow Young at Heart Club and an active parishioner of Christ the King Parish where he also served as a Stephen Minister; he was also a parishioner at St. Paul's Church, both in Concord.

Bob loved to take on any project big or small and liked tinkering on old cars and trucks. He enjoyed his summers boating and puttering at the family lake house in Bradford, NH.

Bob was very proud of his family. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Sharon Litchfield and husband Sherm; his son, Mark Counter and wife Deborah; grandchildren Kelli Herrick and husband Greg, Aaron Counter and Tyler Counter; great-grandchildren, Leah, Ethan, Ainsley, and Michael; his brother Arnold Counter and wife Madeline, sister-in-law, Pat Counter, brother-in-law Jack and his wife Lucy Nicholas, sister-in-law Marilyn Frazier and her husband Morris Dupree. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roland.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a future date.
