To my eternal regret, I hardly knew you, Dad. Now its like I'm being handed the corner pieces of a huge jigsaw puzzle, one where I know the final picture instinctively, but rely on so many others for, for details. I have learned so much about you that I am prouder than I could ever have known, not only of you, but more than anything, to be your son. Until we meet again, in the next world... love you, Dad x

I was so very saddened to hear of Bob's passing. I worked with Bob at DCSS and he was truly a wonderful man. No matter how difficult the project or problem, Bob handled every issue with a smile and a contagious attitude and spirit. He gave my law partner and I our first law firm's gift - a wonderful brass sign with our firm name that I will always look at with the fondest of memories of Bob and his generosity and kindness. I send my thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Bob gave me an opportunity with the Division that I feel many would not. He made me (and others, I'm sure) feel as though my opinion counted and encouraged deeper thought. He will be truly missed and my heart goes out to his family and friends.

Bob was a mentor that believed people would rise to meet the expectations that he set for them. I do't know good of a child support enforcement officer I would have if it weren't for Bob. If you were truly on his team, you wanted to exceed his expectations. When I became NH's top child support enforcement officer, I was more happy to have made him look good for our administration than for myself. The thing I liked best at work was being able to feel free to put an idea out there that he might not agree with and then having to debate my position with him. He allowed debate which leads to growth for all involved. He didn't stifle creativity. He was the best boss one could have.

The grief that fills me is not for him but for those of us who will truly have a missing spot in our lives with him gone until we hopefully meet again one day.

My favorite "explanation of life" that he gave was that women were put on this earth to make men gentler and caring. Therefore, women are the true rulers of this kinder gentler world.
