George L. Wineburgh

George Lewis Wineburgh, 67, of Frankfort, Indiana, died peacefully on May 15, 2012, in Indianapolis. He was born in Utica, January 1, 1944, to George and Ethel Kephart Wineburgh. He attended Utica Free Academy, Cornell University and received his MD from Cornell Medical School. Specializing in radiology, he discovered widespread undiagnosed tuberculosis in Tortola, B.V.I., and extensive asbestosis in northern New York State. He was a talented gardener, lover of Labradors, and possessed a strong social conscience. He was married three times: Sandra Hamilton, Oslo, Norway; Otilia Garcia, Yonkers, NY; and mostly recently, Cindy Denton Wineburgh of Frankfort, Indiana. His only sister, Marsha Wineburgh, resides in New York City. A private interment will be held for family on May 19, 2013, at Temple Emanuel Cemetery.
