Frank R. Zimny
HARLINGEN, TX. - Frank R. Zimny was born September 16, 1926 in Gary, Indiana and passed away August 26, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen at the age of 83.
He grew up farming in Hobart, Indiana and throughout his life owned a variety of businesses from building homes, selling travel trailers and boats, to owning a mobile home park.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife, Irene Bialas Zimny of 56 years; his children Pam (Jay) Eisenbach, Cindy Zimny, Frank Zimny, Jr., Patti Zimny (David Garcia), Kathy (Mike) Gray; and Sherri (Grady) Schmidt; and four grandchildren, Megan Gray, Julie Zimny, Tiffany and Patryk Zimny-Garcia. Also surviving are nephew, Larry (Daisy) Sumner; one brother, Ben Zimny; various nephews and nieces; and his sister-in-law, Florence Stanek
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruno and Lottie Zimny and siblings Walt Zimny, Betty Razus, Irene Norton, Dolores Jovonovich.
Frank met Irene while flying his own plane. He was hardworking, both in business and raising his six children. Throughout the years, he and Irene enjoyed taking their children fishing and camping. Later in life they enjoyed exploring the back roads of the Rio Grande Valley and bird watching.Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the Holy Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.
The funeral procession will depart Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. for an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Monday, August 30, 2010 with Father Tom Pincelli as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Pallbearers will be Frank Zimny, Jr., Jay Eisenbach, David Garcia, Mike Gray, and Grady Schmidt.
Memorial contribution may be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Building Fund, 1015 E. Van Buren, Harlingen, Texas 78550.
Frank was known for desiring and living a simple life. He applied his common sense approach in all he did. Those that knew him trusted his straight-forward, honest manner. He was also known for his sense of humor and playing practical jokes. We will miss his sparkling blue eyes, but will remember them every time we look at his children.

"My condolences to the whole family" My offering comes with utmost "respect & honor" to such a wonderful father to my cousins, husband to my dear aunt Irene, and such an exemplary man as you "Uncle Frank". I will always remember the trip to Florida, that you so kindly to me on, with your loving family, you always had an adventurous spirit, and I know the good Lord will take care of you, in His adventurous Divine Kingdom.
