Jack Duval Hunter II
HARLINGEN, TX. -Jack Duval Hunter II, age 47, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at his residence in Harlingen.
He was raised in Fort Wayne, IN and resided in Harlingen since 1986. Jack received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1982 and later his Masters degree in Civil Engineering at Purdue University. He earned his J.D. at St. Mary`s University in San Antonio, TX in 1986, where he was the Associate Editor for the St. Mary`s Law Journal from 1984 - 1986.
Jack was a practicing attorney in the State of Texas and first worked with the Johnson & Davis Law Firm from 1986 - 1988, then as the Assistant D.A. to Hidalgo County from 1989 - 1991. He was a professor at Reynaldo G. Garcia School of Law from 1989 - 1991. He later worked as an Immigration Attorney from 1991 - 1993 and then in private practice from 1994-2004. Along with his many accomplishments, Jack held memberships with the State Bar of Texas, N.R.A., Cameron County Bar Assoc., Hidalgo County Bar Assoc., Texas State Rifle Assoc., Order of Barristers, Valley Sportsman Club of the Lower Rio Grande Valley, and Spirit of Praise Church.
Jack is survived by his wife, Denise Marie Hunter of Harlingen; his 2 sons, Adam Hunter of San Antonio and Benjamin Hunter of Harlingen; his father, Jack Duval Hunter of Fort Wayne, IN; and 2 brothers, Jon Hunter of North Carolina and Justin Hunter of Frankfort, IN.
Memorial services will be held Friday at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Sullivan officiating at Trinity at Harrison Funeral Chapel.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Trinity at Harrison Funeral Home 1002 East Harrison Avenue Harlingen, Texas 78550.
