Dean Dryhurst Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province from Oct. 27 to Oct. 28, 2009.

DRYHURST Dean George April 25, 1950 - October 23, 2009 It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Dean Dryhurst. Predeceased by his father Edward in 2004, he is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Marilyn, daughters Celeste (Wade) and Seren, son Travis, mother Marguerite, brothers Harley and Ed (Diane), grandchildren Alexa and Zaccary, 4 nieces, many cousins, aunts, uncles and in-laws. He will be deeply missed by many friends as well as his furriest buddy Bo. Dean had a great appreciation of music, he loved the outdoors, sailing was where he was most content. Taking his dog to the beach was a pleasure he allowed himself almost daily. He considered himself a very lucky man to have three wonderful children of whom he was so proud. We will forever remember our beloved husband, father, brother, son and friend with a guitar in his hand and a song in his heart. He is so loved. A service will be held in celebration of Dean's life at the Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Rd., North Vancouver on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 10am. In lieu of flowers a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation or the SPCA would be appreciated.

For you Dean!
I heard you caught the last train out of town, read it in the paper and with respect I hurried down to say goodbye. The platform stood empty as I smiled in the fading light.I could hear your train in the valley and watched your star rise into the night.

I'll catch up with you in the next town
Always Lefty, Truly Dan

Dean was so much more to me than my
husband and father of our children. He was my best fiend, always there to
support me, be proud of me and to help
me see that the simple things in life
are so precious. No matter what the
situation, he always had a positive
outlook. He never gave up the hope of a better tomorrow when things were bad. No matter how dire the situation was, he could always make me laugh. We would laugh so hard at times, we cried. What a wonderful gift. I feel
extremely blessed to have had him in my life for almost 27 years. I will never love anyone as I have loved him. I will miss Dean every day of my life, hearing his voice, seeing his
smile, feeling his hand touch mine. Thank god we took time everyday to say
to each other "I love you".

Till we meet again
Marilyn

I am so sorry to hear about Dean...I knew him and we hung out back in the days...60's and early 70's. I have not seen or talked to him for the longest time. How sad!!
He was a great guy and we used to have lots of laughs. Mostly about his hair cut back then.

My deepest sympathy to all his family.

I will think of Dean every day. He was more than my brother, he was a great friend. I will miss his generosity. I will miss his music and I will miss his humor. But most of all I will miss saying, "Hey Deano"! And hearing him answer back, "Hey little brother".
I love you Dean.
Ed.
