Josip BELAC Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Mar. 8, 2016.
BELAC, Josip
January 30, 1943 – March 4, 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Josip (Joe) Belac. Joe was born in Pazin, Croatia. He immigrated to Canada in 1963, with nothing but a desire for a better life. He was given an opportunity to learn the construction trade in Calgary. With Joe's hard work and dedication, he was able to leave Calgary, come to Vancouver and build his own framing company alongside his brother and son. Together with his wife of 46 years, Dusica, he achieved everything he had hoped for. Joe is survived by his loving wife Dusica, sons Dennis (Tina), Andy (Grace), Robert (Carrie), grandchildren Marcus, Broc, Sofia, Ciana, Mathew, Mia, Dylan, Mason, sister Francis (Joe), brother Ivan and 4 others in Croatia, as well as many nieces and nephews here and abroad. Viewing will take place on Wednesday, March 9 at the Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings St., Burnaby from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 10, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Parish, 3105 E.1st Ave., Vancouver at 9:30 a.m. with interment to follow at Ocean View Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Slovenian Hall 5762 Sprott St., Burnaby from 1:30-5 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at
