CHROBOK, Stanislaw (Stan)
October 18, 1924 - August 28, 2014
Dad died peacefully in his sleep on August 28, 2014 at the age of 89. He was predeceased by his brothers Leonard and Cheslaw. Stan is survived by his children Valdy (Rhona), Ted (Lorraine), Krystyna (Ron) and Renatta (Harry); and his grandchildren Lesley, Pamela and Karen. Stan was born and raised in Poland. He served in the Polish army as an artillery gunner and was stationed in the Middle East during WWII. He immigrated to Canada in 1956 and helped found Karibou Industries in North Vancouver, BC where he worked until his retirement in 1975. He later moved to Langley and enjoyed his quiet retirement years until his passing. Stan's family is very grateful for the kindness and care given to dad by the staff at Maple Hill Centre in Langley. A Funeral will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 20676 Fraser Highway, Langley, BC. Prayers and Viewing will be held the previous evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the BC Cancer Agency or the charity of your choice.

Stan was always generous, gentle and kind, and a permanent memory of our first years in Canada. I'll always remember the smell of freshly-milled cedar in his workshop and the comfort and quality of the beds he made for my siblings and me. We'll miss you.

I am celebrating Uncle Stan's life and for helping him sponsor and bring us from Poland to Canada to start a new and wonderful life. There were four of us in 1963, myself (Jolanta, then 9, my sister, Leila was 7, and his brother Leonard (Len) and my mom Joanna (both of whom have departed for great and wonderful adventures)

Yes Jolanta Robertson (Chrobok) and Leila Chrobok are Leonards daughters and are very saddened at the passing of our Uncle we remember him as a kind and giving soul who brought us to Canada from Poland and looked after our family. Our prayers go to the family and we will be attending the service Friday.
