Dr. Jinks (as I knew him) was my dentist from the time that I got my first tooth until he asked me why I was still in his office in my early 20's. He and all of his staff had such a wonderful way with children! I remember him so fondly.

Barry,
Sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I remember him well when we hung out in Point Grey or up at Redroofs. Your family must have many good memories of him.

I was with Gordie when he received the highest honor from the American Society of Dentistry for Children in San Antonio.
I looked up to him while we both taught at UBC at the early days. He is one of the most honest and genuine person I have ever met.

This is so beautifully written. We are all better people for having had him in our lives. He was legendary and will be desperately missed. Joanna and Adam Rhodes.

As you the obit says, Gordie was one of a kind. He was a member of that pioneering generation of pediatric dentists who tilled the ground for those who followed making the path easier to follow. When our paths crossed it was always me who benefited from the encounter. My sincere condolences to all of the family. We will miss his smile, wit and incredible personality. Safe travels Gordie!

He was my childhood dentist from the time I was 4 and he left me come and see him until I was 19! He was always so nice to me and let me pick toys out of the toy cupboard after my visits. May he rest in peace.
