It is with great sadness we announce that Audrey Mae Ellington was called home by her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on October 24, 2017.
Audrey was born December 7, 1944 to Ralph & Velda Bigler in Santa Paula, California, the youngest of three children.
She spent her youth growing up in Santa Paula where she eventually graduated from Santa Paula High School in 1962. She married James Ellington in 1964 and was married for 20 years. During this time she gave birth to her son Scott, her daughter Julie, and her son James. As a young mother she dedicated herself to raising her family and working as a secretary at First Baptist Church in Santa Paula. She later worked for the city of Santa Paula Planning Department where she retired after 25 years of service.
Throughout her life she enjoyed sewing, crafting, and artistic painting. As a loving grandmother, she was known as "Nanny" and enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren.
Audrey will always be remembered for her cheerful smile and her kindness toward others.
Audrey was preceded in death by her son James Ellington, her brother Sterling Bigler, and her parents Ralph & Velda Bigler. She is survived by her sister Darlene Darby (husband Bill of Washington), Her son Scott Ellington of Santa Paula, & her daughter Julie Bowman (husband Bruce and grandchildren Blake, Brynnleigh, Brady, and Brett of Camarillo).
Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on November 7, 2017 at 11 am at Santa Paula Cemetery.
