Janet M. Isom, 78, of DeKalb, Illinois, died Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb.
Born July 16, 1937, in Akron, Ohio the daughter of Thomas and Ethel (Peck) Lowe, Janet married Roy E. Isom on July 14, 1956, in Akron, Ohio.
Janet graduated from Kishwaukee College with a nursing degree; she worked as a nurse for Rochelle Hospital and later for DeKalb Area Retirement Center Oakcrest in DeKalb. Janet was a former member of First United Methodist Church in DeKalb.
She is survived by her children, Rick (Dena) Isom of DeKalb, Rita (Don) Bramlett of Rockford; three grandchildren, David (Michelle) Isom, Rachael (James) Barbee, Ryan Harris; great grandson, Jeremiah Barbee; step grandchildren, Stephanie (Richard) Williams and A.J. Bramlett; step great grandchildren, Brittnie, Trinity and Christina Williams, Daylen and Drew Bramlett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy in 2001; her daughter, Rebecca Garrett; two sisters; one brother and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Janet M. Isom Memorial Fund, addressed to the Isom Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
