Mrs Vickery made a difference to so many people. We have fond memories of our children's time there, way back in the 1990's. Such a positive, fun, learning environment. Our condolences to the family, and best wishes for Parkwood School continuing forever!

May she rest in Peace. I worked for her husband in the Foreign Agricultural Service. He was a true southern gentleman as well

The fact that Mrs. Vickery was responsible for over 10,000 children's ability to navigate in the world through exceptional education is no surprise to me. I was one of the lucky ones who attended Parkwood. I had to fast-track my early education as I didn't go to Kindergarten - started in 1st grade at Parkwood. I attended through 3rd grade and I credit Parkwood for giving me the foundation I needed to succeed. What is really amazing is that my sister had intellectual disabilities which they didn't know as much about back then. She also went to Parkwood where they made a space for her and now she is a high functioning adult - thanks to the kindness and early educational support of Parkwood and Mrs. Vickery. The world is a much more empty place without her but thank goodness I was lucky enough to have been one of the 10,000! My condolences to the family. She was a light in the world.

I'm so sorry to hear about Mrs. Vickery. I have known her since I was a tot but through Vienna Baptist church and Parkwood. I attended Parkwood in the early 60's. My sons Adam and Ben attended Parkwood in the early 90's. She had such a great impact on my life. She was a wonderful person and so important to me. She was always there for me over the years. I will miss her and I loved her deeply. Rest in peace Mrs. Vickery and may God bless you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. It is certainly a sad day for me. Steve you are in my thoughts and prayers.

We absolutely loved sending our children, Leslie and Michael McDermott, to Parkwood in the late 80's. Mrs. Vickery was an amazing lady and her staff terrific. Our family has such great memories from our experiences at Parkwood. I only wish my two grandsons lived in the area so they could attend Parkwood. May you Rest In Peace Mrs. Vickery and Parkwood continue to be the wonderful preschool we remember. Patty and Michael McDermott, formerly of Oakton, Va but now residing outside of Philadelphia, Pa.
