CORENE DANEHOWER Obituary
CORENE PEACOCK DANEHOWER
Corene Peacock Danehower, 96, of Springfield, VA, passed away on December 6, 2021. She was born in New Brockton, Alabama, to Alfred Levin and Belle Sullivan Peacock on April 11, 1925. She married Justus (Dan) Danehower on September 3, 1949 and graduated from the University of Alabama in 1951. She was one of the first kindergarten teachers at Springfield Elementary School and an active member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Springfield, VA. She participated in Community Bible Study International and led two Bible study groups. She was an enthusiastic Alabama and Washington football fan. Corene was preceded in death by her husband, Justus (Dan) Danehower. She is survived by her children Deborah Vorhis (David Vorhis) and Timothy Danehower (Joyce Danehower), nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Corene had a zest for life, a spunky wit, and brought warmth and love to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., December 18 at St. John's United Methodist Church, Springfield VA. Arrangements are by Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield, VA.
