Patricia (Pat) Lacey Coan passed away at her home of 56 years in Falls Church, VA, on Saturday, December 12, 2020. Prior to her death, she was surrounded by children and grandchildren and Keira, her son's dog for which she had developed a deep affection. Born in Washington, DC on March 20, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. Lacey and the late Margaret Lacey. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her three siblings: Muriel, Robert and Dorothy. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl A. S. Coan, Jr. Pat and Carl were married for almost 58 years. Together, they raised five children who blessed them with nine grandchildren. Pat is survived by her five children: Carl (Lynne), Chris, Tim, Sheila (Jim), and Ken (Mary), her eight granddaughters and one grandson. The family will receive family and friends, albeit in limited numbers due to state-imposed Covid-related restrictions, from 2 until 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon, VA. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Herndon, VA. Burial will follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Again, though, due to Covid-related restrictions, outside of the immediate family, only a small number of invited guests may attend the funeral mass. However, the family intends to plan a celebration of Pat's life for Pat's entire family and friends in 2021 as soon as it is safe.
