Passed to her eternal rest on August 30, 2018 in Frederick, MD. Gerry was born and raised in Beaver County, PA. After high school, Gerry moved to Washington, DC to work at the Pentagon. This was followed by a long and successful career at the US Postal Service and ATF. She retired from government service in 2000 and assisted her husband with his business, "Bill's Auto Supply". She loved to travel and visit family relations in Alabama and Pennsylvania, with whom she had warm and special memories. With her husband, Gerry raised two daughters in Silver Spring, MD and had the love of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as several four-legged companions. She was a member of Glenmont UMC for many years and later in life attended the Interfaith Chapel at Leisure World in Montgomery County MD. Beloved wife of the late William Granger Jones; daughter of the late Harold and Maude McMichael; sister of the late Beverly Young; mother of Kristie Kay Burns (Mikeal, Sr.) and Janet Marie Barnes (Ray): grandmother of Janet Slater, Robert McGrath, Daniel McGrath, Mikeal Burns, Jr., Nigel Burns, Emily D. Barnes and Kathleen "Kate" Barnes; great-grandmother of Tyler Slater, Eireann Jones, Akira Burns, Gareth Jones, Lynnette Jones, Maeve Day, Leyla McGrath, Evangelene Day and Gabriella Shoemaker. Friends and family are welcome to visit at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. West, Silver Spring, MD on Thursday, September 6, from 7 to 9 p.m., where memorial service will be held on Friday, September 7, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville, MD.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com
