Guy Henry had no fear and loved adventure! He pursued his dream of flying jets in the Air Navy. He described the joy of breaking through the clouds into the sunshine. For recreation he joined a Navy skydiving club and boxed for his squadron.
Guy passed away from complications with pneumonia in Silver Spring, MD on October 27, 2022 with loving family by his side.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois. Shortly thereafter his parents, Jack and Gladys Henry, moved to Aspinwall, a small town near Pittsburgh, PA. After graduating from Aspinwall High School, Guy went to Indiana University, where he met his future wife, Marilyn Dickinson. Guy and Marilyn had a love affair for the ages and just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in August.
More than anything else, Guy loved being with his family: his wife Marilyn; daughter Sharon; son Tom and Tom's wife Paula; his grandchildren Carmen, Devon, Ryan and Kyle; and his sister, Janice. Guy was the great leader of this very close-knit family that always stayed active. Whether they were playing sports, biking, running, canoeing or vacationing, they always were looking for the next adventure. He will be missed terribly by everyone.
Guy founded United Information Systems in 1980 and helped found Integrated Financial Solutions with his son in 1998. Both firms are doing well and benefited greatly from his leadership. He was very intelligent, kind, empathetic, funny, and creative and Tom will dearly miss his collaboration at work.
Guy and Marilyn were honored to be residents selected to help design the Carroll Creek Linear Park, Frederick's well-known and beloved landmark. They also were instrumental in renovating the East Third Street Park.
A celebration of life will be held sometime over the winter.

Marilyn & family,
I was so saddened to hear of Guy´s passing in October. Meg and my have thought of you often over the years. We enjoyed the times so much we were able to get together. If anyone was a mentor to me it was Guy especially at ORI and Summit. And I was honored that he chose me to join the company UIS that he jointly started as the Technical Director. Thank you Guy!

Marilyn and Family - I am so sorry to hear of Guy's passing. Every time I pass by East Third Street Park, I think of Guy, Marilyn and the other volunteers who made the park a warm and inviting place for kids. The park serves as a memorial to his leadership, generosity and commitment to our community.
