MICHAEL CHRISTIAN COLLEY  
A memorial service for Vice Admiral Michael C. Colley, USN (Ret.) will be held December 20, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Old Post Chapel, Fort Myer, VA, followed by inurnment with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery, and reception at Fort Myer Officers' Club. VADM Colley passed at his home in Gulf Shores, AL on January 19, 2013 at the age of 74. He attended the US Naval Academy graduating with distinction in June 1960 and earned a Master's Degree in Computer Systems from Naval Postgraduate School. His 34-year Navy career was primarily served in the nuclear submarine force. His commands included the submarine USS Narwhal and the submarine tender USS Proteus in Guam. During the 1st Gulf War, he was Commander, Submarine Forces, Pacific. In 1994, VADM Colley retired to Springfield, VA and was active in national security policy and analysis, intelligence evaluation and senior management positions in the public sector. He served as an elected member of the Libertarian National Committee from 2004 to 2010. His wife of 41 years, the former Arlen Schneider, predeceased him in 2001. He is survived by daughter Allison Bollschweiler (Bruce) and grandsons Calvin and Mark of Thornton, CO; daughter Kendall Colley of Fairfax, VA; and brother Dane Lundquist of Colorado Springs, CO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association www.heart.org.
