We were saddened to hear of Nancy's passing. She was a true Toastmaster and a friend to all. Nancy gave us the only Toastmaster award we ever received with both of our names on it. She will be greatly missed. Our prayers are with you.

Nancy Jameson McCeney was an extraordinary colleague and dear friend. I knew her also to be a devoted wife, caring mother, and loving grandmother. To know her was to love her.

I first met Nancy over 20 years ago when she was then working within the Office of Legal Education at the U.S. Department of Justice. Shortly thereafter, at the time a vacancy was publicly announced within the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency where I was employed, I encouraged her to apply for a job within EPA's newly created National Enforcement Training Institute (NETI). Luckily for NETI, Nancy did apply for that senior position and was ultimately selected as the best qualified candidate.

During her tenure at EPA, Nancy and I traveled coast to coast and border to border, as well as to the State of Alaska, teaching Advanced Negotiation Skills to environmental enforcement professionals at the federal, state, local, and tribal levels of government. These hundreds of professionals included numerous attorneys at law and scientists with doctorate degrees.

At the time of Nancy's retirement, I calculated the total number of miles that she and I had traveled together for over a decade. As I stated to the large group of friends and colleagues who gathered to celebrate her retirement, Nancy and I had traveled together a total of 85,000 miles--the equivalent of going around the world 3.5 times!

The world would be a much better place if populated with more people like Nancy who gave freely of herself but without any expectation of benefit in return. She was truly unique.

Her demise leaves an enormous hole in my close inner circle of most respected, most trusted, and most adored friends. I shall forever remember Nancy for her myriad acts of kindness, for her positive outlook that was a daily inspiration to one and all, for her outstanding professional skills, knowledge, and abilities, but, most of all, I shall remember her for her genuine love and true devotion to family and friends.

Nancy McCeney can never be forgotten but will always be remembered by all of us who were privileged enough to know her and to love her so dearly.

People like Nancy do not grow on trees. We need more people like her in our world. She was an unselfish person who gave of herself. This is the best gift we can give to others. She was also a great toastmaster for District 36, and supported the program and the benefits for those willing to take advantage of what it had to offer.

My sympathies are with Paul and her family. We will definitely miss her in DTM Leaders and in the Toastmaster family.

Nancy continued to support Toastmasters Clubs up to the day of her passing. Over Christmas, she contacted me out of the blue, and ordered a dozen sets of the speech timing lights my wife and I make, which she intended to give to specific new and existing clubs as a gift. When I delivered them, she said she had decided to be the District 36 "Timing Light Angel", and had no intention of recouping the cost. I had never met this spry, sensitive woman before, but was impressed by her explanation that she wanted to continue to guide and support the clubs. As I understand she only had time to give away a couple of sets, I hope that someone in District 36 continues the timing light angel program as a memorial to a great lady.

I will miss Nancy. Her smile and enthusiasm were infectious. In Toastmasters she was both an encourager and a doer, always willing to help anyone who needed it. I will miss her.

Nancy served the citizens of the United States for 44 years, her last term was with the National Enforcement Training Institute at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency where she was a kind, energetic and loving colleague. She was a founding member of the Ariel Rios Toastmasters Club at EPA which helped foster more effective communication skills for scores of EPA employees over the past twelve years. She will be greatly missed by EPA, her many friends and those whose lives she touched. We are grateful that this girl from Ohio was with us. She had the heart of two people and the energy of seven. Farewell our dear friend!

Nancy demonstrated full understanding of the role of Toastmasters District Governor as one of service to the individual member. She stood by her principles, which grew out of care for the other person. Her warm and gentle, loving and generous spirit will stay with me forever.

Nancy was the best. She had expertise; a sense of humor; and was great at delegating letting others share the pride of accomplishments on her team. Even after moving to FL, we regularly communicated by email and phone. I as many will miss her kindness, and friendliness. I have a great number of Nancy stories stored in my memory.

Nancy was such a sweet lady. I dearly loved being in Toastmasters with her. She always had a smile. And a prop. Usually Kermit. She meant a lot to me and to all of us. My condolences to her family. We will all miss her.
