Peter DuFore Obituary

DuFORE PETER MICHAEL DuFORE "Pete" Peacefully entered eternal rest Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Born July 15, 1947 to Pedro DuFóre and the late Ana Hernandez, in Newark, New Jersey. Beloved husband of 40 years to Marie (Maxine); loving father to daughters, Danielle DuFóre-GarcC-a (Guillermo) and Shaanna DuFore Alexander (Larry); adoring grandfather to JoaquC-n, Reina and Santos; devoted brother to Angel and the late Pedro DuFóre. Pete served in the Vietnam War, USMC, then worked as a graphic designer for the Department of Interior. A celebration of life will be held Monday, July 5, 2010 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, VA. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 14160 Ferndale Rd., Dale City, VA. Interment Quantico National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in honor of Peter DuFóre be made to Prince William Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PWSPCA), PO Box 6631, Woodbridge, VA 22195 or the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative, 1835 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20009. I knew Mr. DuFore when his children attended the school where I worked. He and his family lived in our neighborhood. I admired his art and he graciously gave me a signed "Mood Indigo" ' 82 piece he did as well as a Django print. I would love to see that his family has them. Feel free to contact me. Nancy

I have been blessed to have known the DuFore brothers: Peter, Angel and Pete. Each unique and clearly blessed with extraordinary talents and unique humanity. The talents and gifts they have each exhibited will be carried on for generations through their wives, children, grandchildren and friends.

It has been a real blessing to have known The Du Fore brothers: Pete, Angel and Pedro. They have been consistent example of a fathers, grandfathers, husbands, brothers and friends. Each has clearly shown, through amazingly difficult and extraordinarily blessed times, that they were blessed with all that was ultimately needed for their life's journey.
Their children and grandchildren will carry on those blessings for generations to come.

The depth of your grief will be equal to that of your love - grief will eventually ease and love never dies.

I am so deeply sorry to hear of Peter's passing. I had the opportunity to know him (and Danielle, and the family) for so many years through Dance Etc. He was such a truly kind, generous person who was also amazingly talented. I consider it truly a blessing to have had the opportunity to have known Peter. My heart is with his family during this time of mourning - please know that a spirit as brilliant as his was is never truly gone, and his memory will live with you all forever.

I am so happy I had the chance to meet him a couple of times over the years...first when he came to visit Danielle at OCU and later when we were tap dancing in the grocery store! Pete was a wonderful person, brilliant artist, and was the absolute best art teacher that my daughter has ever had. He is already missed, and we pass many prayers to the family, and want you to know we are thinking of you. My daughter wanted to speak with him before going on to college, then we heard the news that he has gone home to be with the Lord. I will miss Pete very much, I met him at Dance Etc, he was so passionate about life in general. He always had a smile on his face no matter what, I will really miss our passes at the local Starbucks coffee shop. Pete you truly are and will always remain a part of our lives, a talented man taken too soon from us. May the family know he truly was a blessing.

Life will not be the same without Peter in our lives. We owned the PostNet in Dale City from July 24, 2002 until October 24, 2009. Peter was one of our first customers. Over the years we became good friends. We are blessed to have known Peter. He touched our lives as he was one of a kind. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. May God Bless all of you.
