WILLIAM JOSEPH FARRINGTON "Billy" (Age 36)
Billy passed away suddenly at his home on April 21, 2015. Before moving to Maryland, he taught for many years at New Brunswick High School in New Jersey. For the last two years, he taught Social Studies at Annapolis High School. He was a dedicated and passionate educator who lived to make a difference in his students lives. In addition to his quirky sense of humor, he loved engaging in spirited conversations about the world, politics and history. He was sensitive and compassionate and wanted to make the world a more caring place. He was a talented guitar player, spending his younger years touring with his bands. He was larger than life and one of a kind. He will be desperately missed by his wife of nine months, Shauna Keenan Farrington; his parents, Bill and Janet Farrington; brothers, Michael Farrington and Chris (Susan) Johnston; niece, Rylee; in-laws, George and Marlena Keenan; brother-in-law, Bryson (Melissa) Keenan; his students, family and the many friends who loved him. A celebration of Billy's life will take place at Cedar Lane Unitarian Church, 9601 Cedar Lane, Bethesda, MD at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. In lieu of flowers, his wife asks that you honor his memory with a donation to Adbusters Magazine or Little Kids Rock, which aims to help teachers bring music to underprivileged public school children. You were so loved and will be so missed, Punk Rock Bill.

BILLY: Still remembered, and never forgotten, by his Immaculata classmates and his "grunge band" co-musician Joe. As Joe wings aloft on his flights for American Airlines, he recalls those who were dear to him and who've been out of reach by phone, text and FB. But while gazing at The Author Of The Universe's unimaginable greatness - blue sky, fluffy clouds, and the vast expanse "beyond" -- he senses there'll be another meetup.

I will always remember the good times that we shared with Bill. He lit up a room everywhere he went. He loved a good debate and could relate to everyone which is a true gift. He left too soon but will stay in our hearts through memories.

Wow, this was truly unbelievable news! My deepest condolences. He was one of the few teachers in New Brunswick High School that actually Got It! He was all for the kids, My son had a hard time but truly Mr. Farrington was his favorite... He was excited about my sons performance at the Court Tavern! What a tragic loss of a great Spirtit. Mr. Farrington was one of the best teacher I have had. He was the coolest teacher, his sense of humor was great. The way he would joke around with us and have a fun class but still be serious and get work done was great. When I got told he had passed it was unbelievable I started crying instantly. We were stunned and saddened to learn about Billy's passing from our son Joe, who was similarly shocked. Billy was one of the first friends Joe made at Immaculata High School and our recollection of Friday nights throughout their 10th grade year consist of driving Joe + guitar from Warren to your home in Martinsville where the garage was the scene of practices and even some "shows" ... He was one of a kind, a questioning and inquiring mind with a funny personality and at his core, a gentle soul. Our condolences to you, Bill and Janet, to Billy's siblings, to his beautiful bride, and to the larger family, friends, his students and education colleagues.

I worked with Billy in New Brunswick. After hearing about his passing, we spent the week exchanging special moments that we shared with Bill--many of them humorous. Very special person. He will be missed.
