HENRY WINSTON Obituary


  
HENRY MILLS WINSTON  
On Monday, March 28, 2016, HENRY M. WINSTON passed away. He was born in Tuscaloosa, AL in 1926. He served in the Pacific during WWII and escaped kamikaze attacks. He picked cotton and worked for his father''s store while at the University of Alabama. He received an MBA from NYU. Thereafter, Henry was a buyer for several department stores in DC and a part-time Realtor. Henry was the General Manager of the Watergate during the break-in. He headed Winston Management at Washington Harbour and Tech World. He formed Winston Real Estate and was a well-respected real estate pioneer. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Tina Winston, his daughters Colette Winston and Gigi Winston, and his granddaughter Danielle Winston. He was the dear brother of the late Victor Winston of Sedona, AZ, and the brother-in-law of Gemma Jabes. He was a preeminent gentleman who was kind, gentle, and wise. A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016, 11:30 a.m. at Washington Hebrew Congregation, 3935 Macomb St., NW, Washington, DC. The family will welcome visitors to their residence on Sunday, April 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Donations may be sent in his memory to the Parkinson''s Disease Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to TORCHINSKY HEBREW FUNERAL HOME, 202-541-1001 (endorsed by The Rabbinical Council of Greater Washington).
