JAMES ANDREW SPAIN
On December 6, 2016, James A. Spain of Columbia, MD, beloved husband of Catherine L. Spain; devoted father of Mark and Jacob Spain; loving brother of Jacqueline Mitchell (Howard); and his twin sister, Judith Zimmie (Thomas); cherished son of the late C. John Spain and Dorothy Spain (nee Brundige); and adored son-in-law of Dorothy Lavigne (and the late Francis Lavigne).A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Oakland Mills Interfaith Center/ The Meeting House and a Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 12 at 10 a.m. at St. John's the Evangelist Church in the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center. Interment immediately following at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Jim's funeral mass will be live streamed. Go to the App Store and download Sunday Streams. Joan--Thanks so much for your memory of Jim. I love the "no anchovies" comment. We never forgot the night Jim and Gerry brought anchovies to add to our pizza and you and I ate them straight out of the can. I hope to see you sometime. Love, Cathy

Although we have not seen Jim and Cathy in years, I have been thinking of all the times we spent together when we were young. Jim had a wonderful sense of humor and was fun to be with. Cathy and Jim were with us on our first date 44 years ago. U Albany basketball game and Spiaks for Piazza with no anchovies. We are so sorry to hear of his death. May God bless and keep him and your family.
