Armetta (Lemon) Ball, 85, of Hartford, wife of the late George Ball, Jr., passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017. Born in Statesboro, GA, daughter of the late William A. and Minnie (Kirkland) Lemon, she was raised in Bulloch County, GA and came to Hartford in 1959. She had been employed at the former Whitney Chain for over 20 years and as a nurse's assistant before retiring. She was a long-time member of Pilgrim Way Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family. She leaves her sister Katherine L. Winston of Atlanta, GA; a brother Waldo Lemon of Richmond, VA; spiritual daughter and son, Cynthia and Samuel Mack of Bloomfield; and a host of nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. Her family will receive friends Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 10-11 am prior to a funeral service at 11 am at the Pilgrim Way Baptist Church, 19 Columbia Rd. Windsor. The Rev. Robert L. Littlejohn, Jr., Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery. For directions or condolences please visit www.carmonfuneralhome.com
