JUDITH MOORE Obituary

JUDITH MOORE  "Julia" (Age 75)
Beloved artist and writer passed away December 29, 2020, of complications from lymphoma, in Santa Fe, NM. Born in San Francisco, CA, she graduated magna cum laude from Pomona College, married Allen Moore, and served in the Peace Corps in Bolivia. She lived in Washington, DC, and then Oxford, MD, for 29 years, co-parenting two children after divorce and later marrying Tom Curren. She was a graphic designer, a Stanford MBA, and a VP at Marriott before leaving the corporate world to focus on painting. Her series "Generations" was exhibited at DC's Foundry Gallery in 1995. After a second divorce, she moved to New Mexico in 2000, where she painted and began writing. A seeker who looked inward, she strived for self-improvement and connection with others. Her passions included art, music, genealogy, and travel - but above all, family. She will be deeply missed by her children, Jason and Jenny; four grandchildren; three siblings; and many more loved ones. A memorial service will be held once it is safe to congregate.

Jenny and Jason

I remember your mom showing me the huge portraits she had painted of her family members. They were beautiful, and I felt like, so much talent went into these. It was a wonder to behold. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Jason & Jenny & Family,
Sending our sympathy & love at this sad time. Her legacy will certainly live on in you! I treasure the painting she did of Roland & shared with my mom Eleanor. As young cousins we shared reunions at Massbach,Illinois with the bees, sheep & cowbells in the summer heat. Grandma Wiedie (Muzz) always kept us hungry kids well supplied with apple pancakes, homemade applesauce & root beer floats (black cows) or gingerale floats (Boston coolers.) She called her dad Roland which I thought must be a sign of California sophistication. May you find comfort in many wonderful memories of a dear Mom & Oma.
