Dear Lubrano family and friends,

I was saddened to learn about the death of Dave Lubrano. I know this is a difficult time for your family and for all of Dave’s friends. I hope you will find some solace in the prayers we offer and the memories we share.

As the Town of Hingham’s Library Director I had the pleasure to meet Dave on several occasions over the past ten years. Frankly, those meetings for the most part were about soliciting his financial assistance for various library projects and to obtain his well-informed advice on how to broaden our base of financial support. I’m sure Dave knew my donor cultivation skills were lacking but he never made me feel inadequate to the task. Using humor, lively conversation and a warm smile he always placed me at ease and managed to turn something I faced with trepidation into a pleasurable and stimulating social event! His support for our library’s Children’s Room gave us the means to move our services forward and to inspire others to follow his lead. In this room hangs a dedication plaque with a modest but apt inscription, “Dedicated to the Children of Hingham from the Lubrano Family”. I’m sure Dave helped many people and causes over the years but I can say with certainty he was a difference maker for our library and our community. I am humbled by his kindnesses and his generosity. They shall live on at the Hingham Public Library and in our hearts.

Forever grateful,

Dennis R. Corcoran

To all the Lubrano's,

I was so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was a terrific man and a great steward of Moose Pond and Pleasant Mountain. I will always have great memories of him paddling in the canoe, sailing in his special "period" sailboat , or sipping coffee on the dock in the warmth of the morning sun that is so special on the lake. Being your next door neighbor for 20+ years, I always admired how much he loved being around his family and how much you all enjoyed being with him. He instilled so many traditions into all of you that I am sure are very special.

He had a great impact on so many people's lives, and if it weren't for Dave, life would have been greatly different for my father and our family...We will truly miss him.

All our best to all of you during this time.
