Zachary Anthony Obituary

York
Zachary John Anthony, 29, died at 8:52 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, at York Hospital as a result of injuries received in the line of duty as a Firefighter for York City Fire/Rescue Services. He was the husband of A. Brooke (Hoffman) Anthony.
Born December 15, 1988 in Allentown, a son of Ray D. and Karen M. (Haffner) Anthony, of Kunkletown, he was a 2007 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School in Brodheadsville, and a 2008 graduate of Florida State Fire College in Ocala, FL. Previously a volunteer for Polk Volunteer Fire Department, he began his professional career with York City Fire/Rescue Services in 2010.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Anthony is survived by two brothers, Marc A. Anthony, of Norfolk, VA, and Samuel D. Anthony, of Kunkletown; and his paternal grandmother, Virginia (Smith) Anthony, of Kunkletown.
Funeral services are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Freedom Valley Church, 3185 York Road, Gettysburg, with The Rev. Gerry Stoltzfoos, and The Rev. Candace Pringle officiating. Viewings will be 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Burial will be private.
A combined public memorial service for Zachary John Anthony and Ivan Kenneth Flanscha will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Memorial Hall of the York Fairgrounds. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 South George Street, York, is in charge of arrangements.
A funeral service in Mr. Anthony's home town will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018, at New Covenant World Outreach, 133 Switzgable Road, Brodheadsville, PA 18322, with Pastor Angel Hoskin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Fallen Firefighters, PO Drawer 498, Emmitsburg, MD 21727.

I just want to take a second and say, I am sorry for your loss. What an amazing young man. My brother is an Assistant Chief with York City Fire and Rescue.
