And so my last living uncle is now gone. Pammy, Vick, and Scott it was an honor to know your Dad, to call him my uncle, and a comfort to know thay are all together again. I will remember all our great family vacations and I want you to know he was one of my inspirations for the athlete I became. With bat and glove he is once again on that fair field. God bless.

Scotty: During my many visits to your dad at Helen Purcell, he told me stories of his youth. I wish I had recorded them! I have enjoyed many years of his friendship...just golfing or shooting the bull. Zanesville has lost a legend, and I have lost a great friend. May God receive his soul and may he rest in peace. God bless, Scotty.....Al Layton
