Happy 89th dad. I think about you most every day. I certainly miss our conversations about "stuff" and not necessarily politically related. I believe in some ways you were happy NOT to discuss anything of a political nature. With that said I believe you would shocked in many ways how the landscape has changed politically. In many ways it would disgust you. Yet there are exciting things. I know you loved space exploration and how technology has changed how rockets return to a landing pad and not just die in the ocean. Cool stuff! Plans to get a human on Mars, electric vehicles are more prominent yet unaffordable and impractical. The racing landscape has changed as well. Sorry, I know you loved Indy cars but NASCAR is still gold, lol!
Dad it goes without saying you are still missed by many. I cherished our last few years together as you were fighting this disease. Thank you for being my dad. I love you!

A treasured close personal friend for over 50 years. Clearly one of Oklahoma's most knowledgeable political historians. Still hard to realize I can't check my e-mail tonight for a message from "Richard Huddleston". I will miss him, but his memory is forever etched in the halls and corridors of the Oklahoma State Capitol.

We send our sympathies to each of you. Richard has been a visible and viable part of the Oklahoma scene.
He loved his state and the people in it, especially those associated with him in state government.
