Iva Klumph Obituary

IVA L. KLUMPH, 93 MADISON, Wis. - Iva L. Klumph, 93, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, in St. Mary's Care Center in Madison. Born May 24, 1916, on a farm in Illinois, where she lived with her parents and 11 sisters and brothers. On March 16, 1936, Iva was united in marriage to Forrest Klumph, and together they lived on a farm until Forrest hurt his back. Iva was a full-time wife and mother who took care of her husband and daughter. They moved to Sharon, where Forrest worked at the bank. He died Nov. 1, 1962. When Iva's daughter graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Iva moved to Madison to live with Beverly. Worked at Gimbels, first in the bargain basement and then in the lingerie department. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidery, making beautiful afghans for years. Also enjoyed traveling with Beverly, and family picnics at the zoo. As long as she was able, she enjoyed being with family and playing cards. Survived by daughter, Beverly A. Klumph; sisters and brothers, Dorothy Humbracht, Donald Jeffers and Ellen (Edward) Anderson; special friend and caregiver, Mary Lou Schwartzlow; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased also by parents, John and Ellen Jeffers; brothers and sisters, Vera Casper, Lillian Jeffers, Violet Krebs, Sarah Goodwin, Earl Jeffers, Rosella Peterson, Marian Hahn, Florence Crull and Jerrold Jeffers. Special thanks to St. Mary's Care Center and Capitol Lane caregivers. Service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, in Bethany United Methodist Church, 3910 Mineral Point Road, Madison, with visitation from 10 a.m. to time of service; the Rev. Brad Mather will officiate. Burial in at 2:45 p.m. in Oakwood Cemetery in Sharon. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Bethany United Methodist Church, 3910 Mineral Point Road, Madison, WI 53705.
