Cynthia Weirich Obituary

Cynthia Hughes Weirich (known as Onnie to her grandchildren) passed away on April 16th, 2025 at 1:18 pm in her home in Ocala, Florida at the age of 64. Cindy was born in Dayton, Ohio to Gordon and Mary Lou Hughes on October 25th, 1960. She attended Walter E Stebbins High School graduating in 1978. She also earned an Associate's Degree in Administration from Miami Jacobs Community College in Dayton, Ohio. She married her husband Dwight, the love of her life as she was his, in July of 2005. Cindy held various jobs throughout her life time with her favorites at Westminster Canterbury, a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was the Administrative Assistant for Resident Services for the Health Care and Assisted Living side of the community from 1999 through 2011. It was here that she and Dwight first met. They were married in July of 2005. After leaving Westminster Canterbury, she moved onto The Ballentine, an Assisted Living in Norfolk, Virginia, working as the Office Manager until her retirement in 2018. After retirement, Cindy and Dwight immediately started a new chapter in their life by moving to On Top Of The World, a 55-and-over community in Ocala, Florida. Her hobbies included riding electric bikes and taking drives through the countryside with Dwight, playing cards such as Super Somba and That's It with her friends, painting ceramics with her children and grandchildren, enjoying visits with family, and cruising the Caribbean. Her last cruise being a family cruise over Thanksgiving in 2023 with her three daughters and their husbands, and thirteen of her grandchildren with only one not being able to attend due to military obligations. Her favorite charities were St. Jude's, Wounded Warriors, and the Salvation Army at Christmas time. Due to several health issues over the years, Cindy has been very limited as to the activities for which she could perform. She often talked of the day she could once again take walks, dance, run, ride bikes, swim, hike mountain trails as well as eat anything she desires. NOW SHE CAN. Cindy is survived by her Husband, Dwight of Ocala; three daughters Jennifer (David), Mikki, and Darcie (Thomas); two sons Bryan (Katie) and Mark (Faith); fifteen grandkids Ryan Wyatt (Alissa), Madison, Corey, Lily, Tee Jay (Joe), Jordan (Kristian), Abbie (Sam), Emily (Tavion), Isaac (Treylon), Caleb (Bailey), Elias, Ariana, Paisley, and Owen; one great-grandchild Willow and one on the way, Daisy. Her five brothers and sisters: Dwain (Katie), Clint (Pey Lin), Diane, Chris (Katerina), David, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Roberts Funeral Home West Chapel at 6241 SW State Road 200, Ocala FL 34476 on Monday, April 21st, 2025 from 10 am to 12 pm. Cindy will be cremated and her ashes will remain at home until such as time to be placed at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

Cindy was truly one of a kind!!! She was the best friend anyone could be lucky enough to have!!! We always knew we could tell each other anything without worrying if it would get repeated! Then we´d laugh and say that´s partly because we´re forgetful!!! She will certainly be missed by so many but am also thankful she is now a guardian angel for her beloved family!!
